Let us be honest for a minute. Few people can dedicate several hours to the gym. With all the things on your plate from work and family life finding time for exercising seems like a burden. We will not even mention how it takes time to go to the gym or to wait in line for some machine and make that embarrassing eye contact when you are all sweaty.
Here is the best part though: you do not have to be a member of the gym or buy equipment or even have much space to get that heart beating and those calories burning. All you need is motivation and a solid morning workout at home to kickstart your day. Morning workout at home is what you need to get started.
I went there too. I recall standing in my living room in my PJs thinking can I really work out at home? It turns out I can. When I found out about morning workouts, at home my life changed. My energy levels got better my clothes fit me better. I actually looked forward to my morning workout at home. Believe it. Not.
So if you are ready to torch calories without stepping foot here is everything you need to know about creating the perfect morning workout at home. Morning workout at home is the key.
Why Mornings Are Magical
There is something about working out first thing in the morning. The house is really quiet then. The world hasn’t started bothering you. You don’t get any emails or notifications. Nobody asks you for anything. It’s just you and your exercise mat. Doing a morning workout at home is a way to start your day. Morning workout at home, with your mat is really good.
I used to be a night owl when it came to exercise. I would tell myself I would work out after work.. Somehow life always got in the way. A late meeting, a body, a sudden craving for takeout. By the time I was ready to move I had zero energy left. Sound familiar? Morning workout at home changed everything for me.
Switching to a morning workout at home changed everything for me. Suddenly I was getting it done before the day could steal my motivation. Honestly? That feeling of accomplishment at 7 AM is unbeatable. You walk into your day already feeling like you have won.
The Routine That Changed My Mornings
Do you know what?I have tried a lot of workouts over the years. Some workouts were really good. Others were just strange. This workout routine has always given me results and I do not dislike doing it. It takes twenty minutes to complete. You do not need any special equipment. This workout routine also works out every muscle group in my body. The best thing, about this workout routine is that I can do it at home in the morning and I can even wear my pajamas if I want to. Doing a morning workout at home is easy. It is also fun to do. I can do this workout routine in my home.
Jumping Jacks
Start your morning workout at home with old jumping jacks. They wake up your body get your blood flowing and gently raise your heart rate. Do three minutes at a pace. Nothing crazy—just enough to shake off the sleep and remind your body that it is alive. Jumping jacks are a way to start your morning workout at home.
Bodyweight Squats
Squats are the foundation of any leg workout. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart lower your hips back as if sitting in a chair and push through your heels to stand up. I will be honest—my legs used to burn badly after these that I would wobble walking up the stairs.. That burn means it is working. Bodyweight squats are a part of your morning workout at home.
Push-Ups
Pushups are a must if you want to strengthen your body. In case the regular pushups prove to be hard to perform, do pushups from your knees. Perform them with a wall. This was how I began my pushups routine – from my knees and gradually moving upwards and the only thing you should feel ashamed of is not trying everything out.
Mountain Climbers
Get into a plank position. Drive your knees toward your chest alternating quickly. Mountain climbers are deceptive—they look easy. Will have you sweating within seconds. I remember the time I did these during my morning workout at home. I thought, “This will be fine.” Two rounds I was gasping for air and wondering why I ever doubted them. Mountain climbers are an addition to your morning workout at home.
Glute Bridges
The starting point will be laying down and bending your knees with your feet planted firmly on the ground. You are supposed to lift your hips toward the ceiling and squeeze your butt muscles at the peak of your movement. Glute bridges are an excellent exercise for activating your glutes with minimal pressure on your spine. You will have a strange sense of achievement as if you worked your muscles all day while sitting.
Plank Hold
Take the forearm plank position where your whole body from head to toe will create a straight line. Squeeze your core muscles and breathe. I must admit I used to hate planks. I would tremble, not only in my arms but also in my core. Thirty seconds was an eternity… But with time, I gained strength and started to appreciate the trembling because it means progress.
High Knees
Jog in place while bringing your knees high as possible toward your chest. Pump your arms for momentum. This is the finisher—it gets your heart pounding. Leaves you feeling alive and accomplished. By the end of this you will be breathing hard.
Putting It All Together
Now that you know the moves let us talk about how to put them all. The best part about working out in the morning at your house is that you can do it at your speed and according to how fit you are and how much time you have. Working out in the morning at home is really fun. You can do it however you want.
Here is what I think you should do:
· Warm up: Jump up and down. Run in place for three minutes. Get moving that is all.
· The workout: Do each exercise one after the other and take breaks in between them.
· Cooling down: Breathe deeply for three minutes. You will see how important this is when you do not do it and your body hurts for days. Working out in the morning at home is great because you can do the workout and then cool down which is really good for your body. Morning workout, at home is the way to go.
If you are limited in time, make it a five-minute circuit. In case of extra time, do the circuit two or three times. The only thing that counts is doing it. Any amount of time spent on your morning workout at home is better than none.
Why This Actually Works
You might be thinking about whether doing exercises in the morning at your house’s a good way to lose weight.. It really is, especially when you do both exercises that make you stronger and exercises that get your heart beating faster. These two kinds of exercises help you get your heart beating faster and build muscles that burn calories even when you are not doing anything.
When you exercise on a stomach your body uses the fat it has stored for energy. This is what people mean by cardio exercises. It can really help you lose fat faster. I have to be honest I just cannot do cardio exercises on a stomach because I get very hungry and feel awful. So I eat half a banana. Drink some water and that works really well for me. You can do your morning exercises at home with or without eating something
The thing that happens after you exercise called the afterburn effect is another reason why this works well. After you do your morning exercises at home your body keeps burning calories for a time. You are actually losing weight while you are sitting at your desk, which’s pretty great. Morning exercises at home are really the way to go and morning exercises, at home can make a big difference.
Making It Stick
People have a time sticking to exercise. I have stopped exercising times. When you can do your workout at home it is a lot easier. You can just roll out a mat in your living room. Get started. Doing your workout in the morning at home is something you can really stick to.
Here are some things that helped me keep doing my morning workout at home:
Set out the clothes you will wear to exercise the night. When you see your workout clothes you will remember that you want to exercise. This might sound like a thing but it really works. Morning workout at home is what I am talking about. It is easy when you do this. Morning workout at home is something I have been able to stick to because of things, like this.
Place your mat in a spot. I keep mine next to my bed. I cannot avoid it in the morning. That guilt-tripping mat has gotten me moving more times than I can count.
Start with five minutes. Tell yourself you will do a workout. Once you start moving you will likely keep going. The hardest part is always the step—literally.
Pair the exercise with something. I listen to my podcast while I am exercising. This way the exercise is not so boring. I am hearing stories while I am exercising. The podcast is very funny. It makes me laugh. I am. Sweating at the same time.
Track your progress. I have a notebook where I write down one sentence after each session. Reading those entries reminds me how far I have come. Morning workout at home is easy to track.
Be Realistic with Yourself
Let us be honest: you are not going to see changes. I certainly did not. If you do this routine four to five times a week you will notice a difference within a weeks. Your endurance will get better your clothes will feel looser. You will have more energy during the day. Doing a morning workout at home takes time. It is worth it.
The first week might be tough. That is okay. The second week will be a little easier. By the week you might actually miss doing the morning workout at home on your rest days. Morning workout at home is a journey. You have to be patient.
It is also important to listen to your body when you are doing a morning workout at home. If something hurts you should modify it. You can step of jump or go slower. The goal of morning workout at home is to make progress not to be perfect. Some mornings you will do well and some mornings you will barely get through the morning workout at home. Both are good and both count. Morning workout at home is, about listening to your body and taking care of it.
Keeping the Fire Alive
I have found that doing things keeps me excited about my workouts. I change the exercises I try doing them in orders and sometimes I add resistance bands or dumbbells to make it harder. My workout routine can change as I get stronger. I also take breaks when I need to take breaks. Taking a break is not being lazy it is my body recovering. My morning workout at home is about doing different things and taking rest when I need it. I like to have variety in my morning workout at home. I like to rest when I need to rest. Morning workout at home is really, about variety and rest.
I also track my progress—not weight but how I feel. Can I do reps this week than last week? Am I recovering faster? These small wins keep me going. Some weeks I feel invincible. Weeks I feel like I am dragging myself through mud.. I show up anyway. Morning workout at home is about progress and showing up.
Another thing that helps is having a workout buddy, virtually. Send a video to a friend. Join a fitness challenge online. There is something about knowing someone else is sweating it out at the same time as you. Morning workout, at home can be done with a buddy.
Final Thoughts
To be honest going to the gym or having lots of equipment is not necessary to get fit. You can actually see results by working out at home in the morning. It’s a feeling really.
Start with things. Be nice to yourself. Remember, every minute you move around is a thing. It does not matter if it is ten minutes or thirty minutes it all helps. You can do this. Your body will be happy.
So make some space in your living room play the music you like and try this workout. You might be surprised at what you can do one step, at a time. I was surprised too.
